I Put A GoPro Under My Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter To See What SumoSprings Really Do

My 4th Generation Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter is gaining permanent rear weight from the OPENROAD aluminum cap, recovery gear, camping gear and the rest of the overland build. I wanted more rear support without adding airbags, air lines, valves, pressure adjustments or compressor hardware, so I installed the Blue -40 SumoSprings from SuperSprings International.

This video focuses on the proof I actually captured: the factory Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter bump stop beside the much larger Blue -40, the complete unboxing and installation, the finished static gap, and GoPro footage underneath the truck while I drive the same deep ditch twice so you can see exactly when the SumoSpring makes contact and compresses on each side.

The ditch test was done with the OPENROAD cap and light everyday gear. It shows engagement and articulation in the truck's current configuration; it is not presented as a heavy-payload or measured sag-correction test. I also follow it with my normal-road driving impression so the review is not based only on what the suspension looks like from underneath.
